  • 1 lb ground beef Lean ground beef works best.
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded Feel free to use a different cheese if desired.
  • 2 cups frozen French fries Choose your favorite brand.
  • 1 cup milk Can be substituted with plant-based milk.
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup Use low-sodium if preferred.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Pickles and ketchup for topping Optional, for serving.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned. Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper into the beef mixture.

Assembly

  • In a greased casserole dish, layer the beef mixture, then top with frozen French fries.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the fries.

Cooking

  • Bake in the oven for about 45 minutes, or until the fries are cooked through and cheese is melted and golden.
  • Let it cool slightly, then top with pickles and ketchup if desired before serving.
