  • 1 lb lean ground beef Cook until browned.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Add gradually to the beef mixture.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Sauté with onions for flavor.
  • 1 medium onion, diced Sauté for about 5 minutes.
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Mix in until melted.
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning Season the beef.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust according to preference.
  • 2 tsp olive oil for sautéing Use for cooking onions and garlic.

Preparation

  • Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil.
  • Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant, about 5 minutes.

Cooking

  • Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks until browned, about 7 minutes.
  • Season the beef with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream.
  • Gradually add the reserved pasta water until desired sauce consistency is reached.
  • Mix in grated Parmesan until melted.
  • Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce in the skillet, tossing gently to coat.
  • Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan or fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding red pepper flakes for spiciness, or customize by adding favorite vegetables like spinach or bell peppers. This recipe is versatile and can accommodate various preferences.
