Ingredients
  

Filling

  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, finely chopped
  • 1 cup cooked crab meat, shredded
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup queso dip (mild or spicy)
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

Taquito Assembly

  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 1/4 cup butter or oil (for frying)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix the chopped shrimp, shredded crab meat, Monterey Jack cheese, softened cream cheese, queso dip, cilantro, garlic powder, and smoked paprika until well combined.
  • Lay a tortilla flat and add 2-3 tablespoons of the seafood mixture to the center.
  • Roll the tortilla tightly around the filling and secure it with a toothpick, if desired.

Cooking

  • Heat butter or oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Fry the taquitos in the hot oil until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.

Serving

  • Serve warm with your favorite salsa or guacamole.

Notes

Enhance the flavor by adding a squeeze of lime juice to your filling. Customize by adding spices like cayenne for a kick or other veggies.
