  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, with fat trimmed off Fresh chicken for best results.
  • 1 1/4 cup barbecue sauce Use your favorite brand or flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Italian dressing
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste Season according to preference.

Preparation

  • Spray the inside of a large crockpot with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder, and place them in the crockpot.
  • In a bowl, combine barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, light brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce; whisk until mixed.
  • Pour the mixture over the chicken in the crockpot.

Cooking

  • Cook on high for 2.5-3 hours or low for 5-6 hours, ensuring the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F.
  • Shred the chicken in the crockpot and serve on buns or over rice as desired.

Notes

Enhance the flavor by marinating the chicken overnight in the sauce mixture. Serve with coleslaw or a fresh garden salad for a balanced meal.
