Main ingredients

  • 1 whole whole chicken (approximately 4-5 lbs)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 whole lemon (optional, for stuffing)
  • to taste Fresh herbs (optional, for stuffing)

Preparation

  • Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C).
  • Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to create a seasoning rub.
  • Rub the seasoning mixture all over the chicken, including under the skin for more flavor.
  • If using, place lemon and fresh herbs inside the cavity of the chicken.

Cooking

  • Place the chicken in the air fryer basket, breast side down.
  • Cook for 30 minutes, then flip the chicken to breast side up and cook for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Enhance flavor by marinating the chicken overnight with the seasoning rub. Customize with spices you love; try adding cayenne for heat or rosemary for extra aroma. Serve with your favorite sauces or dips to elevate the meal further.
