  • 3 pieces ripe bananas (mashed) Ensure they are ripe for the best flavor
  • 1/3 cup melted butter Use unsalted for a better taste
  • 3/4 cup sugar Adjust based on sweetness preference
  • 1 large egg (beaten) Can be substituted with flaxseed meal for a vegan option
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For added flavor
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  • Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
  • Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until everything is evenly blended.
  • Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir gently.
  • Add the flour and stir just until the flour disappears—do not overmix.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  • Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Serve warm on a lovely platter with butter, cream cheese, or peanut butter. Add cinnamon or nutmeg to enhance flavor, and customize with nuts or chocolate chips.
