Ground Beef Philly Cheesesteaks

Delicious twist on the classic sandwich with seasoned ground beef, sautéed onions, and gooey cheese in a soft hoagie roll.

Ingredients
  

For the Cheesesteaks

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices cheese (provolone or American)
  • Olive oil for cooking

Cooking

  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add sliced onions (and bell pepper if using) and sauté until soft.
  • Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
  • Divide the beef mixture into four portions in the skillet.
  • Place a slice of cheese on top of each portion and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
  • Meanwhile, toast the hoagie rolls.
  • Once the cheese is melted, scoop each portion onto the toasted rolls.
  • Serve hot and enjoy your Philly Cheesesteaks!

Notes

Add some hot sauce for an extra kick. Customize the cheese by trying Swiss or cheddar for a different flavor. Serve with pickles or jalapeños on the side for added crunch.
