  • 1 lb ground sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1.5 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 10 oz can Rotel (diced tomatoes with green chilies), drained
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh parsley or green onions (chopped for garnish)

Preparation

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and crumbly. Drain excess grease.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
  • Stir in the cooked sausage, Rotel, sharp cheddar, and mozzarella cheese. Mix well to combine.

Cooking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Bake for 30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or green onions, and serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or toasted baguette slices.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh and warm. You can prepare the mixture a day in advance and bake just before serving.
