  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup matcha green tea powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  • In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Sift in the all-purpose flour, matcha green tea powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix until combined.
  • Pour in the milk and vanilla extract, stirring until the batter is smooth.
  • Transfer the batter to the greased loaf pan and smooth the top.

Baking

  • Bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Enhance flavor with almond extract or customize with chocolate chips or lemon zest. Store in an airtight container for up to one week or freeze for up to three months.
