  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons red food coloring (gel works best) For vibrant color

Dry Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix-Ins

  • 1.5 cups crushed Oreos About 15 cookies
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips Optional

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and red food coloring until well combined.

Combining Ingredients

  • In another bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Fold in the crushed Oreos and white chocolate chips if using.

Baking

  • Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking tray, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are set and the cookies look slightly underbaked.
  • Let the cookies cool on the tray for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Consider serving 1-2 cookies per person. For extra indulgence, pair with whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
