Main Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti Cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  • 1 lb lean ground beef Can substitute with turkey or shredded chicken.
  • 2 cups marinara sauce Store-bought or homemade.
  • 2 large eggs Helps bind the dish together.
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Key for a cheesy topping.
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese Adds flavor to the top of the pie.
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning Infuses dish with warmth.
  • to taste salt and pepper Adjust based on preference.

Optional Ingredients

  • 1 cup diced onions Add for extra flavor.
  • 1 cup diced bell peppers Optional, can substitute with mushrooms.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Boil a large pot of water and cook the spaghetti until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • In the same pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, breaking it up until no longer pink.
  • If using, add diced onions and bell peppers to the meat and sauté for an additional 5 minutes.

Cooking

  • Sprinkle in the Italian seasoning and stir.
  • Pour in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, then add the cooked spaghetti and mix well.
  • In a bowl, beat the eggs and stir them into the spaghetti mixture along with the mozzarella cheese.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a pie dish and transfer the spaghetti mixture into it, pressing down gently to create an even top.
  • Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top and bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  • Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve with a green salad and garlic bread. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
