  • 1 lb Ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1 medium Onion Chopped.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 28 oz Canned crushed tomatoes Also called tomato puree.
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste For added richness.
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning Can substitute with a blend of oregano, basil, and thyme.
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust according to taste.
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper Freshly ground if possible.
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese Grated, for topping.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until translucent.

Cooking the Sauce

  • Stir in crushed tomatoes and tomato paste.
  • Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Serving

  • Serve meat sauce over spaghetti and top with parmesan cheese.

Notes

For presentation, twirl the spaghetti into nests on the plate. Accompany with garlic bread and fresh salad. Aim for about one cup of cooked spaghetti per person. A light red wine or sparkling water pairs well with this dish. For flavor enhancement, consider adding a splash of red wine to the sauce.
